Confession: shooting has zero aim assist. No lock-on, no magnetism, nothing pulling the ball toward goal for you.
- The shot fires in the exact direction your player is facing. Nothing else.
- Hold to charge: a longer hold means more power and more lift.
- A power gauge shows the ideal charge for the distance. It is a guide, not a guardrail.
- Overcook it, or fail to line up, and the ball just leaves. Wide. Over the bar. Into the stands.
There is no code correcting a bad shot. If you are not lined up, you are not scoring, which is exactly why I have several clips today of the ball leaving the stadium.
Why
Every football game I researched eventually adds some assist: a magnetised reticle, an auto-aim cone, a nearest-team-mate pass lock. I get why. It is forgiving.
But the whole promise of this game is that every touch is a real contest. The 1v1 duel, not an assisted mini-game layered on top of one. If the game corrects your aim for you, the duel is not real. So: no assist, on purpose. You earn a lined-up shot, or you don't get one.
