Local multiplayer works. Two humans, one screen, opposite teams.
- Two players, each controlling their own team: switch players, pass, shoot, tackle each other.
- A red marker for player one and a blue marker for player two, so you can tell who is who at a glance.
- Shared screen, not split screen. You are both watching the same ball, so splitting it would just give you half a pitch each.
Go easy on me in the clip. I only own one controller, so I am on keyboard and my opponent has the gamepad.
The brand promise is "eleven fighters on the pitch," and a tackle between two human players is the first time that has been literally true. It is also the first real step toward online: getting two humans onto one pitch is most of the plumbing.
